Every time I see a new film or short on the internet. I always
ask the same question, how was this made? It’s really simple in the end, but in
the past I have seen some mind blowing effects slash videos that truly were
made simply, and it blows my mind to see it done. It’s a simple question but I helps
me to know which directions I want to go with my creativity and where I should
look first.
Most of the stuff that is created in our class have much of
the same elements but the biggest concern I have is, why does everything have
to be funny, or have some great punch line at the end. It’s never written into
an assignment that we have to have a hilarious piece, but I feel like that’s what
everybody wants, for instance my first project will not be funny at all, and I intend
it to be that way. It’s just the same when we pitch our ideas, if the class doesn’t
laugh at it, it’s not good enough?
Here’s a great topic, how much should we charge as artist
for this type of work, let’s say a free-lance job, where do we start, and how
to we pursue such a thing. It’s very simple question I guess but I think it
needs to be answered.
Overall I’m not that picky, I’m normally easy going and don’t
have many questions. I just like to get the job done and that’s that.
